Foreigners applying to enter Spain or holding a residence permit or visa who intend to start, develop, or manage an economic activity as entrepreneurs may be issued a residence permit for business activity, which will be valid throughout Spain and for a period of three years. Once this period has elapsed, they can apply to renew their residence permit for two years and obtain permanent residence after five years.
The application for a residence permit for entrepreneurs must be submitted electronically by the interested party or through their legal representative to the Large Companies and Strategic Groups Uni.
Applicants must meet the general and legal requirements necessary to start the activity, which will be those established in the corresponding sector regulations.
Entrepreneurial activity is defined as one that is innovative and/or of special economic interest to Spain and, to this end, has a favorable report issued by ENISA.
