Census (registration as a resident)
To register as a resident in Granada, you must follow a series of steps established by the City Council. Registration is a fundamental procedure, as it allows you to prove residency in the municipality and access various public services and benefits.
Requirements
- Registration Form:the official form must be completed, which is available on the Granada City Council website or at the corresponding offices.
- Identification Document:the applicant’s valid DNI, NIE, or passport is required.
- Proof of Residence: this can be a rental agreement, a property deed, or a recent bill (water, electricity, gas, etc.) that proves residence at the indicated address.
- For non-citizens: a passport, NIE, or identity document from their country of origin must be presented, along with documents proving legal residence in Spain.
Procedure
- Go to the Citizen Service Office of Granada City Council or complete the procedure online.
- Present the requested documentation and, if completing the procedure in person, sign the registration form.
- Once registered, you can obtain the registration certificate, which will be necessary for other administrative procedures.
Registration in Granada is free and mandatory for all people who habitually reside in the municipality, and must be completed within 90 days of arrival.
