Life in Granada
Security
Granada is generally a safe city, but like every other tourist place, it's important for each person to be careful with their belongings, especially in crowded areas like the Alhambra or the historic center. Local police, National Police and Guardia Civil are present throughout the city.
Where to file a police report?
The general function of the National Police’s Foreign Tourist Assistance Service (SATE) is to assist victims of crimes or infractions in their own language. This service helps victims with any necessary steps arising from the problem (cancelling credit cards and documents, contacting embassies and consulates, contacting or locating family members, etc).
They also assist in processing complaints, informing them on their rights, and providing them with a summon for a Fast Track Trial when appropriate, or notifying the Duty Court when necessary.

Network of safe spaces
Granada City Council, in collaboration with the nightlife sector and other businesses, has established a Network of Safe Spaces created to provide suitable environments and assistance in cases of gender-based violence.
The initiative aims to ensure leisure activities that provide protection for women in Granada, especially in establishments frequented by young people, and to promote the involvement of men committed to rejecting violence against women.
These spaces act as reference points for access to information and protection, contributing to the awareness and visibility of gender-based violence in society.
