Digital Certificate of the FNMT
The FNMT (National Mint) Digital Certificate is an electronic identification tool that allows citizens and businesses to securely and remotely conduct transactions with the Public Administration, as well as digitally sign documents. This certificate acts as a kind of “electronic signature” that guarantees the authenticity, integrity and non-repudiation of transactions and communications made over the Internet.
The certificate is issued by the FNMT, a public body responsible for the production of banknotes, coins, and other official documents in Spain. Obtaining it requires a series of steps, including an online application, in-person verification, and installing the certificate on the user’s device.
This certificate is used to access a wide variety of online services, such as filing taxes, checking tax information, signing official documents, and completing administrative procedures.
